NECESSARY PREPARATION OF SURFACES

    1. Deck construction should allow water to drain freely.  Carolina Fiberglass recommends 1/4" per foot.  Any less is risky!
    2. Decking material should be clean, dry 3/4" T/G plywood ( free of knots + footballs ). Do not use treated ( CCA )
      or cedar lumber for decking
, only as posts, as the resin will not properly adhere. Two layers of half inch plywood,
seams staggered, also works very well.
    3. Fasten with nails or screws. (Check with Carolina Fiberglass for details)
    4. Campher strips are also installed on any 45* inside angle, ie. deck/wall, deck/post(s), and/or step/riser. Pine or fir (No treated or cedar when fiberglassed).
    5. Deck should have a 1"by 3"to 8" facia, attached, which will be the drip cap.(check with
      Carolina Fiberglass for details) .
    6. Fiberglass laminte must be installed prior to door and siding installation.
    7. Carolina Fiberglass would like five to seven days notice before the decking is installed to schedule accordingly.
    8. Prompt installation of the deck banding will allow the prompt completion of the facia and waterproofing.
